Burning Flag Press is an autonomous donation-based zine distribution based out of Philadelphia, PA. While collectively we have many goals and demands, there is a specific set that we strive to see in the world.
The freedom and autonomy of individuals and groups, especially those who have been marginalized and exploited under the current capitalist system. These groups include people of color, LGBTQ* folk, poor folk, mentally and physically disabled, nonhuman animals, and many others. All communities deserve the right to decide for themselves how they’d like to live. This is guaranteed through existence and mutual consent.
An end to the current wage system and jobs, as they currently function. Work will always be an important part of life, but jobs under the current system are far from what is desired. Work should be volunteer based, without bosses, and consist of a worker and community owned means of production.
Adequate housing, education, and food for every person. Humans are to be granted secure and comfortable shelter, without the basis being monetary gains. Criminalization of the houseless must end. Humans are to be granted the ability to explore a range of scholarly subjects. Humans are to be fed, and never starve.
The dismantlement of government armies. Burning Flag Press contributes to a complete refusal to participate or support any war.
The dismantlement of ALL police departments across the United States. The police are a tool of the State and serve to protect the bourgeoisie and private property. Police and State revenue is being generated through the exploitation of the poor.
The freedom of all prisoners and the destruction to all prisons.
The United States is home to the world’s highest prison population, yet the majority of crimes committed are nonviolent, commonly affiliated with poverty, or don’t have a victim. People are to be given adequate resources, mental health services, and addiction services. No one is to be locked in a cage.
Equal and free access to health services for all people.
An end to animal exploitation, with a constant effort to popularize alternatives to eating meat.
An end to the destruction of Earth and the ecosystems we live in and rely on.
An end to racist, sexist, and queerphobic gatherings or meetings and individuals.
A guarantee to all basic necessities of life, be it clothing, justice, peace, life, land, etc.
A world where all interaction is based on autonomy, consent, and mutual aid will always be an important goal for the blooming of minds, population, and future generations. A world of this nature is possible, but nothing without a constant battle to create it.
Every action we take part in creates and nurtures the ways of our communities. We should continue to defend our communities and destroy those which seek to threaten their existence. Burning Flag Press will continuously seek to introduce anarchism to as many people as possible.
